After seven fabulous years at Art Gallery of New South Wales, Chiswick at the Gallery will be serving its final guests in January 2021 with a new collaboration between AGNSW and Matt Moran set to begin. Moran, one of Australia’s most high-profile chefs, will continue with the Gallery as Culinary Adviser, AGNSW Events and Dining with further details to be announced in due course.

Until January, Chiswick at the Gallery will continue to serve guests and offer its special Archibald Dining Package during the exhibition, with a menu by Matt Moran inspired by the stories of 2020 Archibald Prize finalists Tianli Zu, Jane Guthleben and Jonathan Dalton.

CEO of Solotel Group, Justine Baker, operators of Chiswick at the Gallery said: “We have made the decision to focus our time and energy on our other 25 restaurants, pubs and bars. This decision means that we will be consolidating our Chiswick brand back to our Woollahra restaurant.

“I’d like to thank all of our guests and AGNSW for their support over the years. We have been privileged to have so many wonderful guests and to have shared so many wonderful exhibitions, special occasions and milestones with them.

“I’d also like to thank our team for how they have pulled together and continued to adapt throughout the many challenges of 2020 to continue to provide guests with enjoyable and safe dining experiences, and we wish the Art Gallery of NSW all the best with the venue moving forward.”

Art Gallery of NSW director of development, John Richardson, said the Gallery was sorry to see Chiswick at the Gallery depart. “It’s been a highly successful partnership for the past seven years, but this is a challenging year for everyone, and I wish Solotel the very best.

“As we look to the next chapter for this truly unique venue, we look forward to working with Matt with an exciting year of exhibitions and events ahead of us,” Richardson said.

“I’d like to thank every member of the Chiswick at the Gallery team, including staff from both Solotel and AGNSW, who have worked to offer diners one of the most enjoyable and unique dining experiences available in Sydney,” Richardson added.
