BARANGAROO HOUSE TURNS PINK FOR ROSÉ RISING FESTIVAL
Rosé is the perfect spring drink and this October it’s turning all three levels of Barangaroo House pink. Rosé Rising is a free to attend, month-long ode to rosé in all its forms with each level of the House serving custom rosé-themed drinks and food.
On the rooftop at Smoke, pair the incredible sunset with classic French Provence rosé by Whispering Angel, the aptly named Pink Sunset cocktail (Bombay Sapphire gin, house-made rosé and rhubarb liquor, lemon, fresh raspberry garnish), or a shot of Blush and Burn (strawberry-infused Patron Silver Tequila, coconut, cream). The rosé theme carries through to the snacks too which include smoked ocean trout on steamed mini brioche with ocean trout pearls and pink prawn crackers.
At Rekōdo, on the middle level of the House, vinyl is played while Veuve Clicquot Rosé is poured by the glass and by the bottle. There’s also a Kyoto Kiss cocktail (Veuve Cliquot Rosé, Aperol, raspberry, strawberry) and Tokyo Drift shooter (Patron Silver Tequila, vanilla, strawberry) special for the month. Do not miss the pink-hued tuna sang choy bao or the decadent strawberry fried ice cream topped with rosé caramel and fairy floss. Every Saturday and Sunday, Rosé Rising Jukebox Bottomless puts you in control of the tunes with requests taken from your table. For $99 per person enjoy two hours of free-flowing wines, including rosé of course, as well as a pink-themed shared menu that includes pink salt prawn crackers; tuna sang choy bao; smoked ocean trout on steamed mini brioche with ocean trout pearls; Skull Island prawn baos; charcoal grilled glazed duck breast with Davison Plum; and strawberry fried ice cream topped with rosé caramel. Feeling boujee? Add free-flowing cocktails for $35 per person, or a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rosé or Whispering Angel rosé for $99 each.
Downstairs on ground level is where you’ll find House Bar against a spectacular waterfront backdrop. Here, it’s all about Chandon Rosé bubbles and frosé poured by the glass and by the bottle alongside gram-worthy Skull Island prawn pink bao buns and an incredible rosé strawberry and cream sweet sando. Challenge your friends to the ‘claw’ machine – winners score a complimentary glass of Chandon rosé or frosé.
As you settle in enjoying rosé, soak in the fabulous music on each level. House Bar and Smoke rooftop both have DJs setting the mood from 4pm until late, Thursday through to Sunday. Rekodo has vinyl DJs from 6pm on Thursdays, from 6.30pm Fridays, and from 1pm Saturdays and Sundays.
