Solotel confirms sale of Sackville Hotel

Solotel today confirmed that Amalgamated has entered into an agreement to sell the Sackville Hotel to Merivale.

Solotel will continue to manage and operate the Sackville until completion, with handover timing and transition arrangements to be confirmed in due course.

The Sackville, together with the Clock and Bank Hotels, was placed on the market by Amalgamated in May 2026, as announced at the time by Solotel.

“The Sackville is one of those rare neighbourhood pubs that feels as though it belongs to its community as much as it does to its owner,” said Solotel CEO Elliot Solomon.

“The strength of the venue is the relationship its team has built with local guests over many years — protecting what people love about the pub, while continuing to keep it relevant and welcoming.”

“We are proud to be handing the Sackville over with a strong business, a clear identity and enormous local affection”. said Solotel CEO Elliot Solomon.

“Merivale knows what it takes to look after a much-loved local venue, and we are confident it will be an excellent custodian for the next chapter.”

“As we set out earlier this year, Solotel is reshaping into a more focused, Solomon family-led group, with greater concentration on the venues and properties where we can invest confidently for the long-term.”

“This gives us a clearer platform to keep improving the guest experience and to build distinctive venues that people strongly associate with the Solotel name.”

Solotel will engage directly with Sackville employees regarding transition arrangements as the transaction progresses.

The sale process for the Bank is continuing. Solotel will provide a further update when there is something material to announce.
