SOLOTEL EXTENDS WAGE INCREASE

Last week, the Fair Work Commission announced a 5.75 per cent increase to Australia’s award and minimum rates of pay from 1 July 2023. Family-owned hospitality operator, Solotel, has announced that it will also extend the 5.75 per cent wage rise to its staff not included in the award and minimum rates of pay.
 

Solotel owns and operates 26 venues including The Abercrombie, Kings Cross Hotel, The Clock, The Golden Sheaf, The Bank, Paddo Inn, Barangaroo House, The Sackville, Albion Parramatta, as well as restaurants Aria, Chiswick, North Bondi Fish, and Chophouse Sydney.
 

Elliot Solomon, CEO of Solotel explained that the decision was an important part of valuing the work staff do. “We’re incredibly appreciative of our staff and the amazing experiences that they deliver every day for our guests, this is one of the ways we can show that.”
 

Hospitality operator Solotel recently unveiled a fresh new brand and company values as part of its strategy to attract top talent for its future growth plans. The rebrand positions Solotel as ‘A Family of Venues’ with enabling growth, cultivating creativity, and create unity at the heart of its values. It draws on the Solomon family’s 110-year history operating Sydney pubs, including Darlo Bar which has been in the family since 1930, while also capturing the diversity of venue offerings now within the business.
