Solotel portfolio reset takes shape
Solotel today announced a further set of portfolio changes as it transitions to a smaller, sharper, Solomon family-led group.
The changes announced today include:
- Kings Cross Hotel has been sold, with Solotel to continue operating the hotel until handover, expected in July.
- Three venues managed by Solotel - the Bank Hotel, the Clock Hotel and the Sackville Hotel - will be coming to market in May via an Expression of Interest campaign led by JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group. The assets are available in-one-line or individually. Solotel will continue to manage the venues until a sale completes.
- Bridgeview Hotel, which had previously been placed on the market, has been withdrawn from sale and will continue to be operated by Solotel.
Construction at Solotel’s Albion Hotel site on Smith St, Parramatta is expected to be underway in July, underscoring Solotel’s continued investment in a portfolio of family-owned freeholds.
Earlier this week Solotel confirmed it had acquired the freehold of the Courthouse Hotel and has partnered with Australian Venue Co who will now operate the Courthouse.
“With these changes, the next chapter of Solotel is more clearly defined - a focused group of family-owned pubs, bars and restaurants,” said Solotel CEO Elliot Solomon.
“Owning the property of our venues gives us greater control over the guest experience, the quality of our offer, and the long-term direction of the business. Our focus is to keep improving our venues and building experiences that people strongly associate with the Solotel name.”
“These changes give us a much clearer path forward. We are now in a strong position to build a more focused business with greater ownership of its future.”
