PUBLIC HOUSE PETERSHAM
YOUR LOCAL REVITALISED AND READY TO WELCOME YOU HOME
23rd September, 2025: The Inner West’s beloved local, Public House Petersham (PHP), is back with a fresh new look and even more reasons to drop by. As the community continues to evolve, PHP is evolving too - bringing a sun-soaked beer garden, a brand-new kids’ play area, wood-fired pizzas, refreshing spritzes and a packed calendar of events. The revamped venue is the perfect spot for long lunches, family catch-ups and lively nights out with friends.
At the heart of the transformation is the Backyard and Kids play area. Designed to flow easily from inside to out, the space has been thoughtfully brought to life to cater for all ages and occasions. Outside, the generous open-air space features picnic-style tables, oversized umbrellas, lush greenery and playful chalkboards, creating a summer-ready setting for all kinds of celebrations and weekend gatherings.
Inside, the fun continues with a newly designed Kids play area featuring a soft play area, activity tables, sensory walls and an imaginative mural by artist, Angeline Drinan. It’s the perfect hangout for kids of all ages and a go-to spot for birthday parties and weekend fun. Tying it all together is the addition of a brand-new back bar with a striking tiled facade, seamlessly shifting from daytime energy to evening buzz.
The signature Beer Garden has been updated with a fresh colour palette and new furniture. Long communal tables encourage sharing and socialising, while smaller settings offer a more intimate dining experience. Whether you're settling in for a laidback lunch or a relaxed afternoon with family, it's the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere.
Stepping inside the pub, the Sports Room is the ultimate spot to catch the Footy Finals live and loud, with $15 jugs of VB to keep the good times flowing. Upstairs, kick back in the lounge room or take in the views from the wraparound balcony.
Taking centre stage on the menu are the woodfired pizzas including the Prosciutto ($28) and Tiger Prawn ($28). The fresh new menu also features Mediterranean style share plates such as Polenta Fries with gorgonzola ($15) and Zucchini Flowers with hot honey ($22). In addition, expect hearty favourites like the Chicken Schnitzel ($26) Pappardelle with braised lamb ($32) and Tiramisu Fried Ice-Cream with mascarpone & espresso caramel sauce ($14). As a dog-friendly venue, PHP also serves up treats for furry companions, including the Pup Cake ($8) and Poochy Bowl ($8).
Behind the bar, expect house-made cocktails, slushies and spritzes, with highlights like the Strawberry & Yuzu Cobbler ($21) and the Frozen Watermelon Margarita ($18), along with a diverse beer and wine list. From now until 26th Oct, guests can enjoy 2-for-$30 Aperol Spritz’s, perfect for spring those afternoons.
As the school holidays near, PHP is launching their biggest School Holiday Program yet from 27th Sept-12th Oct. Families can enjoy pizza-making classes, arts and crafts, reptile shows and more. Plus, kids eat free every day during the holidays with an adult meal. Locals can also look forward to a lineup of upcoming events, including Oktoberfest and Halloween.
Elliot Solomon, CEO of Solotel, said the refresh of Public House Petersham reflects the group's commitment to the Inner West and the local community who make it what it is. “PHP has always been a local favourite and with the area evolving, it was only right that we evolved with it. We’ve put a lot of thought behind making the venue feel fresh and welcoming, from the new colour pallet and logo, to the expansive Backyard and Kids play area. PHP is a place locals can count on, whether it's for a family dinner, a milestone celebration or a couple of drinks with friends.”
PHP has grown alongside its community. While the spaces have evolved, the welcoming atmosphere and sense of belonging have remained unchanged. PHP may be a house, but it's the local community that makes it a home.
